A National Scenic Trail Right in Our Own Backyard

New England Trail (NET)
Central Connecticut
The NET is a 220-mile trail that travels through 39 communities in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Comprised of the Metacomet, Monadnock, and Mattabesett Trails, the route features classic New England landscape features: long distance vistas with rural towns as a backdrop, agrarian lands, unfragmented forests, and large river valleys. The trail also travels through historically significant areas and diverse ecosystems. In April 2009, the NET was designated as a National Scenic Trail, making it the nation's 11th such trail. Visit www.newenglandtrail.org for more information, or click here to visit a section of the trail. Stay tuned--more sections of the NET will be posted on WalkCT.org in the future.
