Location Details

The Blue-Blazed Pomperaug Trail extends for nearly 5 miles from Kettletown State Park in Southbury, through Jackson Cove Town Recreation Area in Oxford, ending at Fiddlehead Road in Oxford. The northern section, from Kettletown State Park to Jackson Cove wanders through woodlands, passes several charcoal hearth sites, and ascends to follow the ridge south, which allows views of Lake Zoar in the southern section. When combined with the Crest (blue/white blazed) and Brook (blue/yellow blazed) Trails, it forms a 4-mile loop in the northern section.

The Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails are maintained by dedicated CFPA volunteers for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public. To learn more about their use, visit the Trail Use Policy page.
