Location Details

The Saugatuck Trail is a 6.9-mile linear footpath running through the Centennial Watershed Forest, from one end of the Saugatuck Reservoir to the other along its western side. The trail is mostly in the woods with occasional views of the reservoir. A number of rock walls and foundations are located along the trail. The trail has a number of climbs and descents, making it an interesting and rewarding hike.

blue-blazed-trail Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail:

The Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail System, was established in 1929 by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA), a private, non-profit conservation organization. Since that time, the system has grown to include roughly 825 miles of footpaths across Connecticut. The Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails are maintained by dedicated CFPA volunteers for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public. To learn more about their use, visit the Trail Use Policy page. How to get there

Driving Directions:

From the junction of Route 57 and Route 53 in Weston, go north on Route 53 for 3.5 miles and turn right onto Valley Forge Road. Continue 1.8 miles to Davis Hill Road and turn right. The Davis Hill Road trailhead is about 500 feet on the right (north) side of the road.

 

To reach the northern most trailhead on Deer Hill Road, go north on Route 53 for 5.5 miles (from the junction of Route 57 and Route 53). Turn right on Route 107 in Redding. Continue 0.6 miles to Deer Hill Road; turn right and go 0.7 miles. The trailhead is on the side of 56 Deer Hill Road, alongside and behind a storm water catch basin.
