Location Details
The blue/white blazed Crest Trail was built in 1980 the the Youth Conservation Corps. It roughly parallels the Blue-Blazed Pomperaug Trail through Kettletown State Park. The trail has two overlooks for views of lake Zoar, and a charcoal hearth site. When combined with the Pomperaug (blue blazed) and Brook (blue/yellow blazed) Trails, they form a 4-mile loop. There is a blue/orange connector trail off the Crest that runs to the State Park campground. The trail connects at both ends with the Pomperaug Trail.

Since that time, the system has grown to include roughly 825 miles of footpaths across Connecticut. The Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails are maintained by dedicated CFPA volunteers for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public. To learn more about their use, visit the Trail Use Policy page.
